Lake Garda Amusement Parks

List and map of the main amusement parks at Lake Garda, where they are located and how to reach them.

Lake Garda is home to some of the largest and most famous amusement parks in Italy. Easily reachable from any Garda location, they offer large spaces where you can spend a carefree day, both for adults and especially for children.

Gardaland

Located in the municipality of Castelnuovo del Garda in the province of Verona, Gardaland is without a doubt the most important amusement park on Lake Garda, but also one of the best known nationally and internationally.

Born in 1975 from a brilliant idea of the Veronese entrepreneur Livio Furini, it has been an extraordinary success with the public since the first years of its opening. In 2005, the prestigious American magazine Forbes certified these results, listing Gardaland as the fifth best amusement park in the world.

Over time, the Gardaland amusement park has grown considerably from its original size, always keeping the public's interest very high. This is thanks to the numerous investments made to guarantee each new tourist season, new and spectacular attractions. Some have been present for many years and are in the hearts of many people. Among these, the legendary Transgardaland Express train or the legendary Colorado Boat, set along a real water course, are certainly worth mentioning.

Among the more adrenalin-pumping rides for thrill seekers, we recommend a ride on Blue Tornado, Raptor, Oblivion, Shaman, Magic House and Space Vertigo. Absolutely not to be missed are the Escape from Atlantis, Jumanji - The Adventure, Mammoth, Jungle Rapids, Cinema 4D Experience, Kung Fu Panda Master, Corsairs, and finally the already mentioned Colorado Boat all based on the adventure theme.

Of course, there is no shortage of attractions designed for families with young children and based on the fantasy theme. The Prezzemolo Tree, the Doremifarm, the Volaplano, the Horses Carousel and many others are a daydream for young children.

Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium

Opened in 2008 and located a short walk from the main Gardaland park, this large attraction houses 40 fully themed tanks, divided into 13 areas that faithfully recreate aquatic environments from all over the world: from the fresh waters of Lake Garda and the Po Delta to tropical seas and the ocean depths.

Along the route, visitors can admire up close over 5,000 creatures belonging to around a hundred different species, including seahorses, jellyfish, tropical fish, stingrays and various species of shark. The aquarium is also Italy's first themed aquarium, designed to offer an immersive and narrative experience, with settings reminiscent of shipwrecks, sea caves and cinematic backdrops.

The tour is designed to raise awareness among adults and children of the delicate balances that govern aquatic life, combining scientific education with entertainment. In addition to information panels and themed settings, there are interactive games, touch pools where you can observe shark eggs or starfish up close, and numerous child-friendly portholes and transparent domes that allow close contact with the animals.

The most striking part of the visit is the splendid transparent underwater tunnel, a semi-circular corridor completely submerged in the large ocean tank: here, sharks, stingrays and tropical fish swim above and around visitors, offering a unique and spectacular perspective. The aquarium also features themed areas dedicated to marine camouflage, illuminated jellyfish and sea lions, as well as feeding sessions and short educational films shown throughout the day.

Movieland - The Hollywood Park

Located in the municipality of Lazise in the province of Verona, this splendid theme park is not far from the above-mentioned Gardaland park and is part of the CanevaWorld Resort, a vast entertainment site that also includes the well-known Caneva Aquapark, the medieval restaurant Medieval Times and the Rock Star Restaurant. Opened in 2002, Movieland is Italy's first amusement park entirely dedicated to the world of cinema, inspired by the great Hollywood studios and American action films.

A distinctive feature of this park is the creation of film sets in true American style, where visitors witness spectacular action sequences performed by professional stuntmen, complete with special effects, controlled explosions, car chases and live demonstrations. Some classic shows, such as the U.S. Army Stunt Show, have become iconic and are one of the park's defining features, as it places great emphasis on live entertainment and direct interaction with the audience.

A truly immersive experience that I highly recommend trying, but Movieland also features numerous attractions suitable for families and the more daring. Among the most adrenaline-pumping are the Diabolik Invertigo rollercoaster, the Hollywood Action Tower drop tower, the Space Mission Orbit space simulator and the immersive dark ride Holmes Hotel, one of the attractions most loved by enthusiasts.

For those seeking unique experiences, the park also offers special attractions such as the famous Kitt SuperJet, a high-speed motorboat that races across the park's artificial lake with spectacular manoeuvres, and the entertaining Gran Canyon Steamer, a water ride suitable for adults and children alike. The offering is rounded off by numerous family rides, well-designed themed areas and various dining options inspired by the world of cinema.
