Picnic and Barbecue Areas on Lake Garda

A picnic is an experience that combines the pleasure of a packed lunch with the beauty of nature. If we add to this the company of our friends and perhaps the smell coming from the barbecue, we get the perfect image of a typical summer outing. In this article we point out the main picnic and barbecue areas on Lake Garda, listed in alphabetical order.

Arco

Walking up from the old town along the path to the Arco Castle, there is a small picnic area surrounded by olive groves. It has a table with benches and a small fountain.

Castelnuovo del Garda

Close to the historic centre is the picnic area of Parco Tionello, equipped with benches and a children's play area.

Desenzano del Garda

At the Parco del Laghetto there is a picnic area with free access and equipped with wooden benches and tables. Another popular place is the Parco dell'Idroscalo, located directly on the lakefront, also equipped with benches and tables. In the innermost area, near the monumental complex of San Martino della Battaglia, there is a small park equipped with benches and tables in the immediate vicinity of the tower.

Gardone Riviera

There are also some picnic areas in the town where Gabriele D'Annunzio lived. At the Valletta delle Fra Ole (near the Nave Puglia of the Vittoriale degli Italiani), at the park of Villa Alba, along the road to Tresnico with a breathtaking view, at San Michele near the church with the same name, there is a picnic area with a few small tables, and finally at Fasano Sopra, in the panoramic place near the small church of SS. Fabiano and Sebastiano.

Gargnano

At Parco Spiaggia Fontanelle there is a picnic area without tables, but particularly attractive and shaded by centuries-old olive trees.

Ledro

In this part of the Trentino region famous for its pile dwellings, there are two areas dedicated to barbecues; the first is in the locality of Ampola and the second in the locality of Ex-Centrale. Various picnic areas can be found in the playgrounds and beaches of Pieve, Mezzolago, Molina and Pur.

Limone sul Garda

In this town located in the north-western part of Lake Garda, there is a picnic area at the olive grove near the Church of S. Pietro (Via San Pietro).

Lonato del Garda

At Parco La Quiete there is a large picnic and barbecue area with the possibility of hiring a grill.

Salò

In the town of the gulf there are two barbecue areas; the first one is located near Madonna del Rio and the second one near the little church of Villa.

San Zeno di Montagna

In the town located on the slopes of Monte Baldo, there is a picnic and barbecue area in the Pineta Sperane area, near the Jungle Adventure Park.

Tenno

At the suggestive Parco Grotta Cascata Varone, it is possible to picnic in a panoramic area equipped with tables and benches.

Tignale

In the town of Montecastello Sanctuary, we recommend the picnic areas equipped with barbecue facilities in the locality of Prabione (under the Church), by bringing the necessary equipment to light the fire. There are other picnic areas with tables and benches at the Nestebol locality in Prabione, Parco Roccolino (Alpini headquarter), Parco Arcobaleno in Gardola, the Aer rest area, the Nembrone rest area in Oldesio and the Val di Villa rest area, also in Oldesio.

Torbole sul Garda

In the town of Garda Trentino located in the northernmost part of the lake, there are some benches along the lakefront where it is possible to have a picnic lunch and in the nearby Parco Pavese. Other green areas can be found in the immediate surroundings of the city centre, at Parco delle Busatte and Parco degli Olivi.

Torri del Benaco

Along the path which leads from the small village of Crero to the Tibetan Bridge, there is a picnic area with tables and chairs.

Tremosine

In the town that is worldwide famous for the beautiful Strada della Forra, we recommend the picnic area in Valle di Bondo, equipped with parking, tables, benches, a fitness area and a children's playground.

Travel tip: We remind all our friends to leave each place as it is or even better. Picnic and barbecue areas are ideal places to spend leisure time, but it is essential that everyone makes an effort to keep everything clean. We ask you to pick up any waste before leaving, to recycle when possible and to avoid lighting fires without explicit permission. Nature is precious and must always be respected.
